Ashlynn's 5th Birthday

Ashlynn requested an apple birthday party for her fifth birthday,
which really threw me.
APPLES?! Really....
{me who LOVES to plan and throw parties}
...but then the theme came to me
 it started with the cake...Ashlynn was very specific-
She wanted apples on the cake.
Which is when I pictured this
and the whole 'Harvest Apple Festival' idea came to me.
 Which was edible, from the basket, to the apples, to the sand...
it looked so realistic, we hid it on the table that greeted guests when they walked in.
Can you find it on the picture above?!?!
It took the guests a few minutes to find it.

 The party was indoors, thanks to a rainy weekend.
We found this great spot with some help from my Aunt Kim and Mom Kirsten.
After lining it with a massive trailer load of hay, pumpkins, and corn...it was perfect!

Here's the birthday girl with her glass of Apple Beer.
{It's my Uncle Morris's apple version of rootbeer, which he had made for Ashlynn's 1st birthday}
 I didn't get many picture's of the party in full swing, but it was a blast!

We had a buffet of apple themed foods; everything from the apple beer, to apple salads, even apple sausages!

We had apple relay's and read books about apples,
played musical pumpkins and had a cake walk...
it was lots of fun.

I had so much fun planning such a unique birthday party for such a unique girl!
I love that she has so many ideas of what she wants and likes!
And I'm SO grateful for my family and friends for their help cleaning up...
hay is messy ;)

This is awesome! But how in the world do you have time to plan, decorate, and throw such fantastic parties? I need your secrets and skills!

Ha ha! Thank you. I just love to do it. I have a little sketch pad I write all my ideas in. I probably spend way to much time day dreaming about things like this ;)

Even though I was sick, I enjoyed the party and how everything came together. I can't believe Ash is five. Time is going by way too fast. I admire your creativity so much, and envy it too. Your kids will always remember the extra mile you went for them on birthdays and holidays. You always make them feel so special. This birthday turned out so AWESOME, as well as all the others. I love you, sweetie.

Love,

Mom K. xoxo
