Luck o' the Irish

The kids were so worried about getting pinched, so we went to bed in green jammies AND laid our clothes out to be able to quickly change before the leprechauns could pinch us...

those tricky leprechauns must have been feeling feisty after we set up our leprechaun trap,
the night before.

(We caught 3, they left 3 bags of chocolate golden coins for us!)
Because they stole our green clothes.
We had to go on a scavenger hunt to get them back!!!
Fortunately we found them and put them on before we could be pinched!

& we looked so cute in them!

That night we had a
'Catch The Rainbow
dinner with the Walker's!
It's actually pigs in a blanket with mashed potato clouds.
I didn't realize the orange and yellow would look so similar, next year we'll skip orange and do a purple row!

So Simple:
Roll the tube of crescent rolls so that the little dashes blend together, then place rows of 1inch hotdogs (so you can arch it). Before rolling it up I sprinkled shredded cheese on top of everything. Then using food coloring paint the rainbow colors...I wish I'd known the orange and yellow would be so similar, I would have skipped one and done purple at the bottom instead!
If that didn't sound simple, comment your question and I'll answer it!

For dessert, I made a Dublin Derby Hat Cake!

It was a very exciting St. Patrick's Day!
